the collective’s workshop programme

Our 2023 workshop series has now completed. Between April and September we ran sessions on;

  • wellbeing for women change makers

  • feminist approaches to facilitation

  • intersectionality in practice

  • participation and lived experience.

The workshops were all held online. Stay tuned for updates!

if your organisation is interested in working with us to design a bespoke session for your staff team, please get in touch.

Participation, lived experience and shifting the power

In this two part programme we explored how we can centre people with lived experience across all our areas of work and how we can work towards re-distributing power and increasing accountability within our sectors and movements.

We also looked specifically at how we can create, sustain and develop lived experience groups/advisory panels, and at community-based action research approaches to creating and building knowledge.

These sessions were facilitated by Kate and Ellie

Intersectionality in practice

Across two interactive online sessions we explored how to develop a more robust understanding of what intersectionality is (and is not) and what it means for third sector organisations across research and programme design/delivery, and how activist groups can fight for change.

These sessions were facilitated by Talat and Briana.

Wellbeing for women change makers

In this two part programme, we hosted a creative and engaging space for self-identifying women changemakers who are interested in how best to support their wellbeing. Whether we’re activists, or involved in policy or practice, it’s vital we’re able to maintain spaces for imagination so we can work towards better futures for us all.

These sessions were facilitated by Mansi and Ellie

Feminist approaches to facilitation

In these two sessions, we looked at how to facilitate inclusive, safe and participatory meetings in both online and offline spaces, using feminist and trauma-sensitive techniques and approaches.

We also discussed feminist approaches to collaborative decision-making and building consensus, and spent some time thinking about how to respond to conflict and unequal power dynamics in group settings.

These sessions were facilitated by Kate, Iffat and Ellie.
